No, Joba shouldn't be in the minors. he should be in the starting rotation now. mussina is done. kennedy isnt ready. thats where he is needed, now.

and you cant manage for the worst case scenario happening. like rivera blowing out his arm.

as for bucholz. he should also be in the starting rotation. for good.

So you think Jaba should be in the minors starting games rather than pitching lights out 8th innings in the majors? That doesn't make a heck of a lot of sense to me.

Picture this, Rivera throws his arm off and Joba is in the starting rotation...now what? Farnsworth? Notgonnadoit..Wouldn't be prudent..at..this..juncture...

The real rub, in my opinion, is that I think Cashman believes Jaba will be the Yankees closer but is appeasing him, the greatest closer ever, and his boss. I think Cashman is playing it close to the vest and is thinking of Jaba as a great 8th inning pitcher who will become the closer as soon as Rivera gets old, hurt, or retires...which could be soon, especially if the Yankees become a .500 team this year, which isn't unfathomable, as they say. And hey...wait a minute...isn't that how Rivera became Rivera? Talk about following his own model for success!
