I just read this article and it left me with a sense of a feeling of wisp of a thought: Bucky has a tell.
We all know he has good stuff. In fact, some of the runs he gave up in his last start against the White Sox were off good pitches. Quentin’s HR was low and either in or outside.
His curve reminds me of Tom Gordon’s and his fastball is mid-90’s and has good movement.
So, I think he has a tell. Hitters no when to expect the 12 to 6 and they lay off hoping for a ball, then sit on the fastball.
That’s my theory and I’m sticking to it.
